Brian Griese, who helped the Buccaneers beat Atlanta in Week 2 but hadn't played in eight weeks, replaced Garcia as the starter.

Garcia was injured in Tampa Bay's loss Monday at Carolina. The defeat dropped the Bucs (9-4) into second place in the NFC South, one game ahead of the Falcons (8-5).

Injuries also sidelined defensive tackle Chris Hovan and receiver Joey Galloway for Tampa Bay.

Falcons linebacker Michael Boley was out of the starting lineup without an apparent injury for the first time since the 2006 season.
