
--The Bucs traded DE Marques Douglas to the Baltimore Ravens for a low draft pick in 2009 and an undisclosed pick in 2010.
Douglas, 31, was signed as a free agent from the San Francisco 49ers. He entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 1999 with the Ravens.
--The Bucs are in negotiations to re-sign DE Patrick Chukwurah, who was injured most of last season and released. Tampa Bay is looking to upgrade their defensive line.
--WR Dexter Jackson returned his share of punts at Appalachian State but returned just two kickoffs in his final two seasons there.
"He's learning everything, really," Gruden said. "These guys are coming from all angles, a little bit faster than they did at Appalachian - no disrespect. Yeah, he's doing a good job of securing the ball and making good decisions. He's caught the ball well here on the field, so we feel good about that."
