--Defensive back Aqib Talib and running back Cory Boyd got into a fight at the NFL Rookie Symposium.
The altercation took place during a session on finances. The symposium is attended by over 250 rookies for the purpose of teaching them life skills and help them adjust to life as a pro football player.
It might be as newsworthy except for where the incident took place and that both rookies have had trouble in the past. Talib, the Bucs first-round pick, tested positive for marijuana three times at Kansas. Boyd, a seventh-round pick, was suspended a year at South Carolina for disciplinary reasons.
Talib is a terrific talent, but this is a foolish way for him to start his career. As for Boyd, he missed the entire the offseason workout program and minicamp with a knee injury.
--Former Lions running back Kevin Jones is scheduled to visit the Bucs next week. Jones, who is recovering from knee surgery met with the Pittsburgh Steelers Wednesday, according to Dr. D.S. Ping, who is helping Jones rehab his injury.
QUOTE TO NOTE: "We have six guys, in my mind, that could start on any team." -- Bucs TE Ben Troupe on the competition at his position.
